Summary of activities: In December 2014 I started working at Varengold Bank AG as an IT project manager (one year later I was promoted to senior project manager). My job is to identify, analyze, optimize and develope internal business processes (BPM), to manage interdisciplinary IT projects (e.g. CRM consolidation) and enhance the IT landscape of the bank by integrating systems through proper interfaces. These include business intelligence, business analysis, project planing, market analysis, inter-departmental communication, requirement analysis, business process management and conceptualization of complex models. |

Summary of activities: In April 2007, I started to work on the same project, however on the Gesture Recognition module. The objective of the research, which was also what my master's thesis was about, was to compare and modify different classification methods, like K Nearest Neighbors, and find the best and most efficient way to recognize and categorize gestures. A paper about this task was presented and published at CSICC08 conference in Iran, Kish-island (here). I also wrote another paper which uses two different sets of invariants for the classification and combines the results of each to get the best result. The paper can be downloaded here. |

Summary of activities: From Oct. 2008 until the middle of Dec. 2008, I attended the Instep program offered by Infosys Technologies in Bangalore, India. I was assigned to the Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) and the topic of my work was how to reuse the existing accumulated knowledge to train project managers. My project was to design a framework and propose solutions in order to enhance use of experiential knowledge of Project Management in projects. To collect data on tacit knowledge of project managers, 13 interviews with award-winning project managers were conducted. . Summary of activities:Four months before Iran's disputed presidential election in June 2009, I started to work as IT-strategist for Mehdi Karroubi's campaign (Mr. Karroubi one of the two opposition candidates). I was responsible for the design of campaign88.ir, one of campaign's main website and also prepare Mr. Karroubi' IT plans for the country. As a senior member of the IT committee, we were also responsible to define a IT strategy and to develop apt tactics for the success of the campaign. According to official polls provided by the government, we lost badly; however, nobody really knows how they counted the votes and the evidence provided by the regime to ensure its reliability was inconclusive and questionable. I also conducted several interviews with well-known IT experts and prepared a report on the deficiencies and issue of ICT in Iran (here, in Persian). |

Summary of activities: I have three years of work experience at the Advanced Information and Communication Technology Center (AICTC), an institute in Iran focusing on IT research, development and consulting in Tehran, Iran. My work there, mainly in the fields of software development and project management, can be devided into three phases of programming, project management and coordination. Technical Coordinator (Oct. 2005 - Mar. 2006) After returning from Japan, I was offered the position of technical coordinator at AICTC. My task was basically coordinating the project managers of small IT-projects to improve the efficiency and increasing the amount of knowledge sharing between individual teams.. Project Manager (Jan. 2003 - Sep. 2004) After working about a year as junior programmer and working in quality assurance section, I was promoted to project-manager, to accomplish the development a Farsi web-based searching application.
